Costa Calida -- Mar Menor
Two seas on one coastline - the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean , impressive
cliffs, wonderful beaches of endless white sand, lively ports and coves with
crystal clear water, more than 3,000 hours of sun a year and mild temperatures -
even in winter - with a yearly average of more than 17ºC. This is the Costa
Calida, the ideal place to spend the days relaxing both in winter and summer.
The waters and mud of the Mar Menor are world famous for their therapeutic
properties. The sea has the same mineral density as the Red Sea therefore is
especially beneficial for those with medical complaints such as arthritis,
muscle spasms and many more in both the young and those not so young. The waters
are very shallow for quite a distance making it a very safe place for children.
Furthermore, fans of water sports will find it one of the best places in the
world for sailing, canoeing, swimming, water-skiing, jet-skiing, flysurfing,
windsurfing, and every other type of water sport activity for those of all
standards from the beginner to the expert with numerous clubs and ports in the
villages such as San Javier, San Pedro, Lo Pagan and many more.
